Lidl has become the first grocery retailer to have its fruit and vegetable range independently verified under the Testfakta Verified Fruit & Vegetables programme. The verification focuses on pesticide residues, traceability and systematic controls throughout the supply chain.

The program requires regular independent laboratory testing and continuous follow-up, with pesticide residue levels kept well below EU legal limits.

Testfakta’s independent laboratory test of ten rice cookers found that all models cooked rice successfully, but consistency varied considerably. OBH Nordica Versatile topped the ranking with 8.6 out of 10, followed closely by models from Yum Asia, Zojirushi and Philips.

Testfakta’s review of twelve vanilla ice creams found major differences in taste, ingredients, vanilla content and the amount of air in the pack. Järna Glass Vanilj and Alvesta Glass Gammeldags vanilj shared the top overall score, while the test shows that price is not always a guide to quality.
