Best garment steamers 2026: New test of 9 models

Handheld steamers are becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to traditional irons. Testfakta has commissioned an independent textile laboratory in Germany to test nine popular models.

In addition to steam performance, usability, ergonomics and safety were also evaluated. The results show consistently good performance – but four models stand out in particular.
