High levels of PFAS in Swedish crayfish

Published: 15 Aug, 2022

Swedish crayfish contain high levels of PFAS chemicals, according to an analysis by the research company Testfakta.

The analysis shows that anyone who eats more than a handful of crayfish can ingest more PFAS than is appropriate in a week.

It is not clear why Swedish crayfish in particular have so much PFAS. Foreign crayfish had significantly lower PFAS values in the test.
